We fished Allstar Couples yesterday at Roosevelt Lake. We were unable to prefish due to Jason's work schedule and the last time Jason was at Roosevelt was about a month ago. We had no expectations, other than having a nice day on the water. Jason started by throwing a spinner bait and I was dropshoting. I caught a fish within the first five casts and caught another one not much later. So within the first hour we had two fish in the boat and both were mine! Jason still hadn't had a bite, so we switch spots. We pull up and the game was on they were stacked up like cord wood. A fish on just about every cast, we cull up to about a 9lb limit. At 12:30ish Jason decides to go to the big fish spot and hope we can get one 4lber before the 3pm weigh in. Well it didn't take long, Jason got a bite and set the hook and yelled at me to get the net because this "Is the One". It was a pretty intense time because we were surrounded by underwater trees and if the fish would find one it would be game over. After a couple min fight he got to the boat and I slipped the net under her. Jason wouldn't guess how much it weighed but after weigh in it ended up being 4.36lbs. We ended the day in 2nd place with a total weight of 12.91lbs with a second place big fish. The winners had 13.08 lbs and the third place team had the big fish of 7.5lbs. It was a great way to start 2011!
