Being a FRIEND

Friendship is a hard thing for me to grasp right now. I have had some situations in my life that I have had to take a step back. I am trying to find how to be that kind of friend that I need to be. What is a friend? How do we acquire a friend? What are some kinds of things that we look for in a friend? Here are some quotes that I have found to a better friend. I know that I am not perfect and need help. "A friend is someone who is there for you when she'd /he'd rather be elsewhere." "A friend is one who knows you, but LOVES you anyway." (Jerome Cummings) I love this one "A good friend remembers what we were and sees what we can be." We are all children of God and need to see each other as He does and see what He sees. "A friend is someone who reaches out for your hand...and touches your heart." That is one thing that I am studying right now is to have a pure heart, kind heart, soft heart, loving heart, willing heart, patient heart, humble heart, and having a compassion. I know with all these things takes time and that it is not going to come over night. Day by day I can accomplish these with the Lord's help to be a better friend. Being able to be there for someone who needs a shoulder to cry on. I have to often think what would the Savior do?

Being an aunt is the best!!

I found out over the weekend that my sister Sara is pregnant! I am excited to an aunt again!! She was going to surprise us all at once but someone was snooping around in her purse and found the pregnancy test and told most of the family. My step-mom told me Saturday morning and then Sara called me later that day to tell me. Most of my family members knew that she was pregnant 2 months ago. I just found out.

The Lake

I went on a Lake trip with my ward at the end of June. It was FUN!! I went wake boarding. Sorry I don't have a picture of that but I do have a picture of my friend Ashley and I having fun on the dock waiting for the boat to come get us. It was good to go play in the water in very HOT weather.

My Calling

My calling in my ward is a relief society teacher. I love it! I teach on the 2 Sunday in the Joseph Smith manual. I have time at work to study for my lesson and I always study too much then I have time to teach. But I guess it is really for my benifit and learning. This lesson I am studying now is Establishing the cause of Zion- being pure in heart. This is something I need right now. If you have any stories or scriptures or things to share I would love it.

Cloe's Blessing

We all got together at Brian's house to have a Sunday lunch after Cloe's blessing and have a birthday party for Tod.

My neice Cloe was blessed this weekened. All of my family was there except Amy and Taylor. We missed you. Tod moved down to Flagstaff the week before so he was able to be there. This is me and Cloe. The only pictures that were taken that weekend in her dress.

Twilight

I love this book. I am going to finish it this weekend. I borrowed it from a friend a long time ago. The 4 book of the series is coming out Friday!

Happy 4th of July!!

I went to Flagstaff for the weekend. It is so much cooler up there in the Phoenix area. I love my family. I love to be with my nieces and nephews. I have been relaxing and hanging out with family. Unfortunately Flagstaff does not do fireworks but it was good to remember this day and why we have our Independence and the freedoms of this country. Time to reflect and remember those that have served and are serving our country. I have two uncles and a grandfather who have served. My Family is very patriotic.
